About Us

Solum Tool is named after our grandfather’s business called Solum Oil Tool. He was a Navy veteran from WWII and a mechanical engineer with multiple patents to his name. Both Stephen and David want to pay homage to his legacy by following in his footsteps.

Stephen Solum is an Army Veteran and served a tour of duty in Afghanistan as a flight medic.  He picked up shooting while in the military and has enjoyed shooting pistols, rifles and shotguns. Stephen also enjoys the challenge of competing in USPSA and IDPA events.

David Solum is a mechanical engineer that has worked in the medical device industry for over six years.  He has always enjoyed designing novel and creative projects and recreationally likes to shoot pistols and rifles.
